On Instagram, Qamar announced that in ‘Mandi’ she will be playing the role of a politician; which she is filming with Mikaal Zulfiqar. Previously, Saba Qamar expressed enthusiasm to portray Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto – an ambitious prospect for any actor!
Despite wide speculation, neither the actors nor producers have publicly confirmed that Maryam Nawaz Sharif, PML-N vice president, is heavily impacted by Saba Qamar’s character Uzma.
The Express Tribune interviewed Saba Qamar, and she expressed her wish to portray either the PML-N leader or the late former prime minister and PPP chairman Benazir Bhutto. She declared that “I would love playing a politician in a movie.”
She further added “I’m confident that we can produce an exceptional movie about Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Should the chance arise, I would be honored to portray Maryam Nawaz Sharif on the big screen and do her justice with my performance.”
Continuing further, she explained her passion for politics. “Given the various facets of their lives, I’m interested in seeing how they act differently when interacting with others; be it among colleagues or at home with their families. There is a strong resemblance between political figures and actors so I think people will relate to this idea.”
